This course examines the legal systems of different states by comparing the state and legal institutions, legal systems, their basic principles, etc. Knowing the characteristics of individual legal families and systems forms a critical approach to the study of legal reality and the desire to develop new options for resolving existing problems of legal regulation. The objectives of this course are: 1) a more detailed account of the problems of origin, existence, development and interaction of legal systems of national states, which unite them into a legal family; 2) consideration of these issues in terms of expanding interstate and international communications. The aims of the course are: 1) the to prepare future lawyers to operate in the world of different national legal systems with common features and characteristics that allow to combine the legal systems in a family; 2) to develop the technique of comparative studies, which gives in-depth knowledge not only of foreign but also domestic law.

«Legal Psychology»
This course is designed for Law students. The aims of the course are to reveal the key challenges and opportunities of common and legal psychology, and the diversity of applications of psychological knowledge in the legal profession. The course consists of four sections. The first one is devoted to the methodological foundations of legal psychology (the subject matter, methods, objectives, links to related sciences, historical development, structure and methods of legal psychology). The second section contains a large amount of information from the field of general psychology. It examines the psychology of personality, personality traits, relevant to law enforcement agencies, especially the cognitive processes and the motivational sphere of the individual, as well as knowledge about the individual characteristics of person needed in the legal profession. The third and fourth sections are devoted to proper legal psychology. The third section (criminal psychology) covers criminal behavior, personality types of offenders, the forms of organized crime, the psychology of crowds. The fourth section explores psychological patterns of communication and the specifics of their manifestation in law enforcement activities; methods of self-regulation of mental states in the process of communication, as well as the psychology of interrogation and its features with different categories of interrogation; the psychology of perjury.
